Tips for Showing your Home

  • Leave all lights on. This makes your home look "friendlier" - more inviting.
  • Please leave when people are coming. They'll feel more comfortable looking around your home if you are not there.
  • Please hide your valuables and any small trinkets. Make sure you don't leave any cash in the house. It's unlikely that anything untoward should ever happen, but we don't want it to happen to you!!
  • If you have a fireplace and the weather is appropriate, it's nice to have a fire burning. Simmering potpourri is a good idea, too.
  • Above all, make sure your house is neat and tidy. Clutter makes your house look smaller. Clear away what needs to be cleared, paint and refurbish anything that required it. And make sure your yard is in good shape. Approximately 25% of buying decisions are based on your home's over all exterior and landscaping.
  • It's a good idea to leave out photos of your house, taken in different seasons. Also, if you have time, why not jot down some things you like about the area: the local community centre and your children's activities, nearby schools, shopping, recreational facilities, etc. - your enthusiasm will be catching! Let's show everyone what you love about your home!
